The services will include and not be limited to:

  • Directing and guiding stakeholders to ensure security is built into departmental capabilities;
  • Reviewing and assessing the security design of ICT systems, applications and capabilities;
  • Providing strategic direction for technology security capabilities;
  • Contributing to the security perspective of the wider strategic plan of the department;
  • Designing assessments and feedback documents in the approved Departmental manner;
  • Producing security requirements in the approved Departmental templates;
  • Updating the Solution Security Architecture pack as required;
  • Producing strategic and security related documentation;
  • Providing out-of-hours support during exceptional circumstances.


Mandatory/Essential Criteria:

  • 7+ years’ experience in ICT security;
  • Experience assessing security of a range of ICT solutions;
  • Significant experience in guiding architects and designers to factor security appropriately into solution design;
  • Broad knowledge and experience across cyber/information security drawn from a variety of disciplines;
  • Ability to promote the benefits of security architecture;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people, at all levels;
  • High level of oral and written communication skills;
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement/relationship management, consultation and communication (both written and verbal) skills;
  • Specified Personnel must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain an AGSVA clearance (Negative Vetting 2 clearance as a minimum);
  • Specified Personnel must be willing to undergo and obtain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC);

Desirable Criteria:

Demonstrated experience in IT security capability planning, roadmaps and strategies.
